CEO Forum 2026: Connecting Business Opportunities Between Vietnam and Malaysia

The CEO Forum – Doing Business with Malaysia, held on October 28, 2026, provided a platform for Vietnamese and Malaysian businesses to exchange market insights, explore investment opportunities, and strengthen cross-border connections.

Organized by the Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi, the event focused on Malaysia’s investment landscape, export potential, trade opportunities, and the evolving business relationship between the two countries.

A key highlight was the panel discussion “Investment Opportunities – Connecting Capital Between Viet Nam and Malaysia,” featuring representatives from prominent Malaysia-linked businesses operating in Vietnam, including PETRONAS, Public Bank Vietnam, Gamuda Land Vietnam, and NETCO Post.

The discussions addressed opportunities across several sectors, including energy, banking and financial services, logistics, real estate, and supply chain development.

In addition to the presentations and panel discussions, the forum provided networking opportunities for business representatives to exchange perspectives, establish professional connections, and identify potential areas for future cooperation.

Vietnam–Malaysia Trade Relations Continue to Expand

The forum took place against the backdrop of strengthening economic ties between Vietnam and Malaysia, following the elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in November 2024.

According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Malaysia reached approximately USD 17.4 billion in the first nine months of 2026, representing a 44.2% year-on-year increase.

This growth reflects expanding commercial exchanges between the two ASEAN economies and highlights the importance of regional cooperation in supporting industrial production, international trade, and supply chain connectivity.

For businesses involved in manufacturing, industrial materials, and cross-border trade, Malaysia represents both a significant ASEAN market and an important link in regional sourcing and distribution networks.

As supply chains become increasingly interconnected, access to reliable market information, diversified sourcing channels, and long-term business partnerships remains essential for sustainable international growth.
