As the semiconductor industry continues to grow as a global strategic pillar, participation in the upstream material supply chain—particularly silicon wafers—presents new opportunities for emerging players from Vietnam.
Recently, Kanetora supplied 6-inch prime wafers and 8-inch coin roll wafers to Desert Silicon, a company specializing in wafer processing, classification, and distribution for various downstream applications in international markets. This collaboration marks an important step for Kanetora in entering the global semiconductor supply chain.
Rather than a conventional trading relationship, the cooperation between Kanetora and Desert Silicon reflects complementary capabilities. Kanetora focuses on sourcing and supplying suitable wafer types, while Desert Silicon enhances value through processing and downstream distribution. This flexible model aligns well with the evolving dynamics of the semiconductor ecosystem.
In parallel, Kanetora has also been supplying silicon wafers to academic institutions such as Đại học Bách Khoa Hà Nội, supporting research and training activities. Providing access to real semiconductor materials enables students and laboratories to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
By simultaneously engaging in global supply chains and supporting domestic research, Kanetora demonstrates a dual development strategy—expanding internationally while contributing to the foundation of Vietnam’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Kanetora aims to strengthen collaborations with both global partners and local institutions, diversify its wafer portfolio, and gradually move deeper into the semiconductor value chain.
Kanetora is ready to partner with enterprises, research institutions, and universities both locally and globally in developing solutions related to silicon wafers and semiconductor technologies.
